Amy Stevenson began her musical studies as a 4th grade trumpeter in a band pull-out program in the Seattle Public Schools. Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music, and a Master’s in Teaching from Grand Canyon University. For 20 years Amy has been the Music Department Chair at Lynnwood High School. LHS bands and orchestras have undergone tremendous growth and been recognized for musical and community service excellence. Amy has taught general music (K-2), beginning strings (5-6), high school band, jazz, orchestra, steel drums, leadership, and has directed the Edmonds all-girls honor jazz ensemble.
Amy currently serves on boards for the Sno-King Music Education Association and the Mukilteo Arts Foundation, and continues to work as the SYSO Summer Music Program Director.
Amy lives with in Mukilteo with her husband Matt, a 4th grade teacher, and their two children: Clementine, an 11th grader at Kamiak High School, violinist and dancer; and Henry, an 8th grader at Explorer Middle School, a bass player who loves Taekwondo; and their German Shepherd who is named after Bruno Mars.
