About Juan Felipe Molano

The SYSO Music Director search committee, which included professional musicians, music teachers, SYSO parents, board members, partners, conductors, coaches and alumni, unanimously recommended Mr. Molano to be the organization’s next Music Director. Mr. Molano brings twenty years of vibrant teaching and performing experience to the position of SYSO Music Director. His career includes conducting positions with top professional and youth orchestras throughout Europe, the United States, Asia, South and Central America. Since 2014, he has served as Conductor of Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), a program of the Los Angeles Philharmonic that puts the transformative power of music-making into the hands of young people who would not otherwise have access to it.

YSO 2020-2021 CALENDAR

Due to the uncertainties surrounding the pandemic, SYSO has chosen to create a modular season schedule with 5 terms of 7 weeks each. Families will only pay for terms in which their children participate.

The orchestra secretary aids the conductor in scheduling and coordinating rehearsal, taking attendance, and answering questions. The orchestra secretary is your primary resource for information.
